This is my first African Violet. I’ve had it for about 3 months ish… it’s doing great, it’s in the 4” pot that it came in… but I feel like it’s getting too big? Is that a thing? The leaf span is like 11”. All I’ve done is water it. Do I need to repot it? If not when should I?

Hi, nice looking plant. the pot should be 1/3 the diameter of the leaf diameter. So a 4 inch pot is the right size for this AV. AVs like tight roots (pot-bound). The recommendation is to repot AVs every 6 months to a year. Once an AV has reached its “adult” size, this really means to refresh the potting mix it is in, not put it into a bigger pot necessarily. You shake off/remove as much as the old potting mix, the pot it up in the same size pot (lots of times the same pot washed out and cleaned). The old potting mix gets “spent” breaking down and the AV just won’t do as well. Here you can read more about starting with AVs ==> [Violets 101 – African Violet Society of America](https://africanvioletsocietyofamerica.org/learn/violets-101/) Best of luck
Wow where did you get such a GORGEOUS SPECIMEN ? I don’t think I’ve ever see one so huge expect on here asking for advice .
