Residents are breathing a sigh of relief after a rubbish filled garden which was attracting rats was finally cleared.
Trash was being left in the front of a terraced supported accommodation property on Tew Park Road in Handsworth for months, causing a headache for others.
The situation caused a bad smell and vermin scurrying inside neighbouring homes.

The matter was escalated to local campaigner Shuranjeet Singh on September 18 who informed the council supported exempt accommodation team.
He said they they investigated and told the agent to clear the rubbish which was done on October 20.

Mr Singh said some of the rubbish included furniture but also household waste and food rubbish which hadn’t been touched in months.
Supported accommodation is housing where individuals receive extra support and care to live as independently.
This can range from weekly visits to 24-hour supervision and is for people with a variety of needs such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, old age, or those who are homeless.
He said: “Those running supported exempt housing need to make sure they are being good neighbours, clearing up their properties and giving their residents proper support.”
“I’m glad the council acted swiftly to resolve this issue which had been ongoing for months,” he added.
