So 10 days since planting and 4 days from my last post on my 6M (mystery mixed mesembs in mystery mixed media) project.
I may have over seeded it. By a lot. My past experience with mesembs seeds has been 50% germination at best. And I had A LOT of seeds having bought by the gram… so I used a bunch….
This is after I took a tweezers and carefully plucked and redistributed maybe 25 of them from where they must have fallen in clumps to emptier places in the pot. I figured that they would not last through competition that close anyway, and this might give them a fighting chance. I was surprised just how much root they have for their size! I’m going to have to get more pots (or eat more takeout) sooner than I expected.
It’s amazing just how similar cotyledons are across pretty much all plants. Seed -> two simple paired leafs -> something more interesting. No idea what these will turn into in the mystery blend yet.

too humid-correct it quick of they all die, place your whole set up on top of some very dried fine sand, assuming you have holes in the bottom,it will help wick the water out
That’s so exciting OP! I’m my experience, the dicots grow a lot faster. And it is so much fun watching them grow and change shape until they get their mature leaves. Mystery mesembs!!
