The dried remnants of the flower. Looks like a solid dude there! I’d leave it, pulling on the spent flower bits might injure the plant. In addition, pretty sure it won’t need water for a while at this stage. Edited for care recc’s.
It can’t hurt to run a paintbrush around the flower and try it!
