Hi all! Just wanted to give an update to my revived plant! Thanks for the advice and proper diagnosis of thrips!!
I scooped out most of the top soil, sprayed it with strong insecticide and repeated the poison treatment after 10 days. And funkytree is thriving! Watered as usual & fed a bit of plant food. Kept it at a window facing north. Only the leaf on the left tells you the horrors it’s seen.
The poorly looking second photo was from september 2nd.

Did you spray the plant with the insecticide?
