The Garland County Master Gardeners have selected the home of Susan Anthony on Farnsworth Street to be October’s Residential Yard of the Month.
“This peaceful front yard has a lovely, welcoming water feature , surrounded by magnolias, atlas cedars, (hollies), pink rose bushes, Japanese maple, juniper and fountain grass. The front entrance has an American flag, hanging basket and two boxwood topiary ball trees bordering the entrance of the doorway,” a news release said.
“The backyard is an entertainment paradise! There is a spacious landscape stone patio that overlooks a saltwater pool with a three tier waterfall , and plenty of room for seating. The fire pit is set off in its own separate space. This area is surrounded with dogwoods, Japanese maple, pampas grass, palm trees, camellias, vibrant pink crepe myrtle, hydrangeas and ornamental grasses,” it said.
“This residence has so many special features and offers a respite from the hot summer sun. It is beautifully landscaped and is very deserving of the October residential yard of the month,” the release said.
