i got this alocasia black velvet (my first alocasia btw) a few weeks ago and its always had these long corms. i feel like its unusual for corms to grow this way, im just really confused and im wondering if anyone knows why they do this.
(also any idea why the new leaves are dying?? she seems happy)

I don’t have much experience with that medium but it looks like there isn’t any oxygen down there. Shoot those corms might not have anywhere to go if it’s packed too tightly
