Hi everyone,
I had bought this plant during summer time and left it outside, it was healthy and thriving outside in the summer weather. I live in Canada and the plant would simply die now if I left it outside. So I brought it inside and ever since then, the leafs have been turning brown and falling out. I don't know what to do, I really don't want to kill this beautiful plant

Nearly all my plants drop some leaves when they come in for the winter. Make sure it’s getting as much light as possible. A grow light should help if you want to get one. It should be the bottom most leaves on whatever branch. The top 20% of the leaves account for about 80% of photosynthesis energy; so it’s perfectly fine for it to drop some of the less efficient leaves.
Yup, it needs more light. Even basic, green *Heptapleurum arboricola* loses some leaves in darkness. And yours is variegated one which means it needs even more light.
You are over watering it
It’s Sad
omg that leaf drop is just your plant adjusting to being inside! mine did the same thing last winter. try placing it near a window and mist it a bit to help with the dry indoor air.
Try a grow light and a humidifier. Scheffleras always drop some leaves all winter though.
As others have said, it needs more light. It went from having 100% sky to 0% sky; put it as close as possible to your brightest window, preferably south or west facing, and yes, if you can, get a grow light. It’ll be fine then!
Thats sad, i have mine outside and is a very hard plant, but im in subtropical.
