We've disliked how our yard (MN Twin Cities suburb) looked for a few years now due to weeds, general patchiness of the grass, and an abundance of dog pee spots. Our usual "fix" was to just water a lot and let it get green. This unfortunately was just letting whatever was there grow, whether or not it was something we actually wanted in the yard. This Spring, my wife tasked me with trying to improve the look of the lawn. I had never done this before so I tried to get an idea of what to do from r/lawncare and guides on thelawnforum.
I took very generic notes for the dates was doing things. I'm sure some of this could have been done better, but overall we're happy with how it has turned out so far, specially comparing it to other yards in the neighborhood when we go on walks – we now can clearly see when a yard is half weeds, despite looking fine (green) when we're driving by. We continue to have patches of what I think is tall clumping fescue, but I need to figure when to deal with that. Really curious to see how this all looks next Spring/Summer.
I took the front yard pics out of a window so there is some glare/fogginess/reflections in those.

Looking good! I would have probably gone with another application of AMS in early Sept. A light blitz of 1#N/sq ft. You can see the Aug photo looks a bit weak on the N.
