Bought this bad boy early this year. Now coming into spring I want sort out this mess. It's not looking super healthy, got yellowing leaves, growth in every single direction, upside down branches, and a massive cluster at the centre of it all.

Any advice on how to approach this? I would love to make it a bit more tree-like, but anything it takes to make it healthy 🥲

I think yellowing leaves are variegated instead of unhealthy?

    It looks healthy to me.

If you want it to thrive, you can repot it in some better draining soil and put it in a sunny window sill. The terracotta pot is excellent for succulents and will help wick away excess water from the soil as well. These variegated plants will need more light than wild types and fully green cultivars, so focus on light.

It’s doing its thing and it’s quite beautiful. It needs more light; as, it’s a variegated type.

I agree with others that the yellowing you see is variegation.

When it comes to shaping… that’s really up to you. Just remove or prune back the branches that you don’t like to achieve the shape that you want. You don’t have to rush in and prune it all at once. You can do it over time until you reach your desired shape.

And if you want more plants… don’t forget to propagate your cuttings. Good luck! 👍

Btw… this is a gorgeous looking plant with a lot of potential for shaping.
