Just picked up this beautiful Thai Con from Home Depot and need some advice.

I usually tend to let my plants acclimate a bit before repotting in proper chunky soil mix along with giving them a handmade moss pole. However, this plant seems to be doing just fine in the soil it’s currently in, with its own crappy support pole that the plant seems to be wrapping its aerial roots around. There are even roots peeking out the bottom of the pot.

Should I still go ahead and change out the soil and provide the plant with a proper moss pole or should I just let her do her thing?

My biggest concern is the fact that some of the petioles are buried. When I tried to unbury the petioles, I found that roots hard grown in the surrounding area, so I just left it be.

(Side note: what’s the best way to keep these leaves from browning?)

She looks a little large for her pot. I would check her roots and give her a decently sized pot.
I find that Monstera Deliciosa is fine with coir poles and that moss poles don’t do so much for them. They’re happy as long as they have something to climb. 🙂
As for the browning? I assume you mean the white parts? Some people are using silica for that but I haven’t tried it out…
