I tried everything. I was using a ton of Hydro guard. That didn’t work and I moved to using three times the amount of hydrogen peroxide. No matter what I did, my roots would eventually rot. And I didn’t understand it because I have one of those countertop ones to grow basil and neglected and it’s just fine.
Well, look at this.
Basically, the root slots/holes start too close to the top and there’s still an angle for like to come in. You can see it. Little tiny holes. So I just ordered some flexseal and I’m going to wrap the top row.

Gross to use flexseal on food.
Also the light isnt causing root rot in such tiny amounts. Youd have an algae bloom first.
Light doesn’t cause root rot though
Have you tried adding more oxygen with an airpump? Light generally have little to do with root rot. I’d say as long as you do you your water changes the issue is most likely in water stagnation or oxygen levels. An airpump could help with both those issues so it’s worth a try if you haven’t added an extra yet.
Not completely sure but I believe you can use too much hydro guard. It creates a biofilm on your roots and can choke them out. I use 2ml/gal and have had no problems. What’s your water temp/ph?
Try using desinfected water, no tap water. You can use chlorine (pool granules) or hydrogen peroxide
What’s the water temp like?
Go back to basics. Less additives. Start fresh.
The white supports, what are those called? Did you 3d print or buy?
Yeah that is not the reason for your root rot.
One of the largest contributing causes of root rot is temperature I’ve found. Peroxides are not strong enough to kill anything. Hydroguard will help but not if the rootzone is too hot. Hypochlorous acid works well if temperature isn’t optimal. I’ve also found a product called Microbial to work quite well although its not as effective as HOCI.
