Fall is my favorite time of yeah for sure – but with blowing out the sprinklers and all the leaves falling…y’all bag or mulch?

I’ve heard to mulch it up and let the nutrients go into the ground and help protect the soils for the harsh winter.

Thoughts??

I much when they are dry and bag when they are wet.

If there are too many leaves it becomes problematic to mulch. After I reseed and the grass gets pretty tall, I’ll do a light bagged pass to get about half the leaves, then ratchet down a bit and mulch a second pass.

mulch some, bag most of it, but I absolutely do not understand why my neighbors are out there with a rake trying to shove it into bags just run that crap over with the mower and get it done in half the time

I always mulch with the mower.

Makes zero sense to rake them up, toss them into a plastic bag and toss. When the leaves vanish on their own. But hey, more plastic for us to eat and drink. Yeah!

Bag with leaves and first mow or two of the year. Mulch everything in between.

  6. I always much, don’t even have bags for my mower

How about aeration? Spring, fall or BOTH?!

Mulching now. Bagging in mid November because of the amount. Cutting with scissors and putting each piece in individual bags when in-laws are in the house.

I go mulch under the trees every couple of days before it builds up to anything.

Mulch mulch mulch mulch Mulch mulch mulch mulch. Wisconsin here plenty of leaves. Mulch mulch mulch mulch. Free fertilizer. My arms don’t hurt after mowing. Fuck raking lmao

I’m your neighbor in Utah, I’m mulching mine. But leaves have been slow to fall this year, so there’s not much to mulch right now.

Mulch mulch mulch. The grass can take *A LOT* more leaves than people realize… then come spring it all breaks down and becomes free compost. Yes there are limits, and at that point I’ll bag. But until that point – all mulch baby.

Tbh when I moved to the place I am now, I mulched the first year and raked/bagged the second. Lawn looked much better in the spring after raking. I also overseeded and applied weed n feed #420 both times

I not only mulch, I go around stealing all the neighbours leaves to improve the soil in the garden. Everything goes back into the ground. I have never used a paper garden bag.

Probably not the ex-wife as they live in an apartment now and I’m just mulching here in Iowa

  16. We rake a few times (30 year old trees) and we live in a “vortex” area so we get our neighbors leaves (and snow)- then mow. I dump 90% of the leaves in the gas easement behind our house. I miss when our trees were tiny and I didn’t have to rake or worry about cleaning the roof gutters.

    Mulching sans bag and post-aeration!
