I found this fragment of a cactus in my yard, decided to pot it and see how it did, the thing sprouted leaves and seems to be doing well, but it's nothing like any of my other plants or anything in my neighborhood I've seen. Any idea?

  1. It’s an Opuntia. The “leaves” are not actual leaves, but cotyledons. They will eventually dry up and fall.

Opuntia, they are very difficult to differentiate the species. Careful of the hairs. Switch to mostly inorganic soil when it matures.
