I received a pair of these what are labeled variegated Echeveria subsessilis on TAPLAP. They looked normal and “lotus”-like in their posture in the pics. However, from the time they’ve arrived (about week ago) they’ve had this drooping posture. First pic is how they looked when unpacked (bare-rooted), second today. I’ve seen this posture in Sempervivum but not Echeveria. Is something wrong or is this their habit?

Look into etiolation. They’re not getting enough light by a lot, and will continue growing taller to compensate. They should be a lot more compact towards the soil line, if that makes sense
Echeveria generally need good light, otherwise the leaves will start flattening and the stem will stretch out in search of more light (etiolation). But, this particular species (desemetiana “subsessilis”) is not only prone to growing tall already, the leaves also tend to point downward as it’s growing, even with good light. So you have a double whammy here – so this plant is really not suitable for indoor growing unless you can provide sufficient artificial light (with actual growlights).
Suffering is what they’re doing
