I just wanted to send one final thank you to this sub for the season. If not for your help, I wouldn't have had this much success. \
I was a complete newbie even though I'd owned a home for 30yrs. I watched my lawn get worse and worse each season. We became empty nesters and I need projects to keep me out of trouble. This was my chance.\
In case anyone is interested this was my process:\
- Killed the entire lawn. Felt badly using harsh chemicals but it seemed like the only fool-proof option
- Dethatched & Scarified w/ electric Amazon purchased tool.
- Put down topsoil mix. Note: I put down way too much and had to rake off more than half of it
- Installed the Rain Bird DIY system. This was a game changer for me.
- Seeded with Lesco Tuf Turf
- Water 3x for 15min initially. Cut back gradually to twice, once and now every 3 days for 10min.
