Hi all. My AV's been in the same self-watering pot for 2+ years. Moved it oit of the window sill so it'll get less sunlight than it previously was getting.

Thinking about getting fertilizer if advised. It bloomed amazing fall of 2023, but seems more dormant this time around. Used to live closer to the bay in CA but in the valley nowadays.

Any pointers of what I can do better/different? I miss seeing the flowers like in pic 4.

First, has the potting mix been changed in the 2+ years? If not, that is a big problem, as it has broken down, been “spent”, isn’t good any more.

Your plant needs to be repotted. Read up on repotting a long neck violet here ==> [Repotting a Violet with a Neck – African Violet Society of America](https://africanvioletsocietyofamerica.org/learn/violets-101/repotting-a-violet-with-a-neck/) and watch here ==> [How to Repot a Long Neck and Also Cure Root Rot – YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE0_d_E6NMk)

Also, the potting mix you use needs lots more perlite added to it. Especially when using a self watering pot. Which I wouldn’t use when working on restoring this AV, at least at first. Wait till the plant has recovered before putting it into the self watering pot. Best of Luck.
