One morning she just gave up and folded like a drama queen. I checked the stem, it was soft, so I took a small cut and yep, it was black inside. Internal infection. I’ve done this kind of “plant surgery” a few times before, so everything went pretty smoothly. The only real struggle was getting her out of the pot. Alocasias actually grow both soil and water roots, so to help her recover faster, I switched her from soil to water this time.

She already survived a nasty spider mite mess not long ago, so I’m really hoping she bounces back again. If all goes well, I should see new roots in a week and I’ll share it here when it happens.

Send her some good vibes:)
