Chaenomeles japonica, ornamental quince. Edible as in can cook with it. Mainly grown for blossom
Cancaresse
I love the smell of these soooo much, ever since I was a kid. Used to put one in my pocket during walks. Still do actually haha. I’ve been trying to find a soap or candle or anything with their scent for years.

Makes lovely jelly or marmelade, but it’s a bit more work than citrus or apple marmelade due to how hard the fruits are.
It’s worth noting that flowering quince and its relatives (*Chaenomeles*) are not directly related to Quince (*Cydonia oblonga*), or Chinese quince (*Pseudocydonia sinensis*) even if the fruits are similar.
