Six weeks post fall thatching, aerating, over seeding, starter fertilizing, and treating for fungus. Photos are after four mowings.

I still have a decent bit of clover and I haven’t treated for insects or grubs. I was thinking about applying another batch of starter fertilizer or winter weed fertilizer. Any final things you’d recommend?

Light a fire in your fire pit. Crack a cold one and admire your 6 month grind until March 2026. Then repeat!! lol
    Looks great well done.

Looks great! Everything about that picture screams Long Island. Am I right?

  3. I would do another app of fertilizer before the next rain comes

Last thing I am doing is a funcicide application 2 weeks before freeze for snow mold prevention. Cloranthinil + propiconizole when soil temp drops below 41f. Zone 5a.

Wait for those leaves to drop. You’ll have a few messes to clean up from now until winter.

In the meantime, enjoy a cold one next to a fire.

I’d do another 2-3 apps of quick release nitrogen, like Sta Green 20-0-0, a half pound of N each, around 2 weeks apart. I don’t bother treating for insects and grub prevent (GrubEx) goes down in May or June.

  7. Pre-emergent for fall weeds maybe? I do split application barricade to help in spring and fall
