Had this plant initially in a pot with terrible drainage. I repotted it in a larger pot with better drainage and also changed out the soil. The new growth is looking great but the old yellowing leaves are still there. My question is whether I should cut them off. Would love input?

Yes 100%. Remove dying leaves immediately. She is just in a little re-potting shock, that’s all.

  2. That’s interesting some say leave them till they turn brown on the edges some say take them off… I believe if you remove them the plant uses energy to help the rest of the plant growth. I would wait a month after the repotting shock to wear off then make the cuts.

  3. No there’s no need to cut them off a figgy. They are experts at dropping them on their own when they want to.

If it’s going through transplant shock, it may be absorbing whatever it can from the bottom leaves to fuel growth at the top. If you cut those leaves off, it’s going to choose the new lowest leaves instead.

So just let it be and every couple days give an ugly leaf the slightest tug to see if it comes off on its own.

Figgys are dramatic. Best to let her throw her tantrum on her own.
