Hello everyone,
I want to get a hydroponic tower to grow plants for my geese (photo above, because I love to share them) to eat so I'm not buying stuff wrapped in plastic from grocery stores. Sure, it'll be expensive to start with, but I think it'll pay off in the end as geese can live for a long time. I currently only have three geese, so a head of lettuce does a lot (they also have a store feed and 24/7 access to outside in their enclosed pen where they are safe from predators) for them.
So I'm wondering what people in this sub would recommend. I'm hoping for nothing insanely expensive. I'm sure, like any hobby, there's grossly overpriced things that work just the same as a mid-priced option. So what would be the best budget friendly tower? And any tips for starting would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all in advance!

Grow towers are overrated. A cheap ($10) 27 gallom hdx tub, hole saw, 1 inch net cups, clay pebbles as grow medium, and a ($20) air pump off amazon is all you need. Probably less than $70 including nutrients.

A grow tower is going to run you a minimum of $350 or more just for the tower.

Lettuce is probably too much effort. Check the archives some folks are sprouting for fodder. That’s quicker and cheaper. Good luck!
