Photos are in order from oldest to latest. I’m hoping to plant my 2 yr old tree that was grown from a Hass avocado seed in the hole pictured. I’m in Southern California, zone 10. I’d really appreciate it if I could get some pointers!
Some additional questions:
– Does it look like any of the branches need to be trimmed?
– It looks like a rabbit recently started chewing up the base of the tree. Any remedies?
– The hole I’m using is about 2’ deep and 4.5-5’ wide, but I’m thinking about mounding it up as well. Would that be a good idea?
– The soil seems to be just clay and rocks so I’d like to amend it by adding compost, worm castings, pumice, and some elements of hügelkutlur. Would that be overkill?
