2nd year with this lawn. Had sod installed October 2024. Cut too short right before hot season started last year. Lesson learned. This fall, began watering 3 times a day, 6 minutes a session immediately after thatch/aerate, seed and soil. When temps cooled, switched to watering 2 times a day. Just overseeded again. Used Scott’s tall fescue and random soil I had on hand which mostly included mostly succulent/cactus soil.

Nice, I’m in SoCal as well and I’m going to plant tall fescue this weekend. I was waiting for the rain to pass. Going to dethatch, then aerate and plant the seeds. I’m going with Vigoro tall fescue grass seed blend
