Hey, hope you’re all having a great day!!

I’m in the process of buying a flat which comes with a lovely garden that needs some TLC. I’m not an overly creative person so struggle with the ideas side so was looking to see if anyone had any suggestions for what I could do.

So far I’ve decided that I want to have two distinct levels with maybe stone/pave on the bottom level and then perhaps wood decking on the upper level. Only problem is I live in London and know that decking can get awfully slippery due to our weather conditions.

All suggestions are welcome and I thank you for any input you can provide!

  1. I think the first thing I would do would be to cut back some of those shrubs and plants.

Depending on your budget, I would be putting the money into a garden sofa (L shaped) in place of the current table and chairs, and not bother with decking at the top level use it for pots or if the table and chair fits. After a bit of a tidy it looks a fabulous area, to sit out.

Get rid of any ivy, it’s a nuisance short term but it pays off long term

What ever you do please remove the ankle breaking boulders of slate from right outside the back door. Pebbles, slate, stones etc are all horrible to walk on.
