I’ve been following lawncare Reddit for about a year and a half since moving into our new house about two years ago; passively reading and taking it all in.

The first year I got my lawn, looking pretty respectable, lush. But comparison is the thief of joy. I became able to aware of the various K31, creeping bentgrass, and various patch treatments the owners before me have used.

This summer, I set out too renovate the front yard as well as take back aside the side yard that was mainly mulch beds.

This summer, I completely nuked the front yard and pulled up the mulch bed, but that ended up being a mound of River rock that needed to be sifted through. Then leveling the yard, top dressing, and creating my own sprinkler system with RVANs, PVC fittings, and a B-hyve hose timer.

The photos below are the highlights from start to finish. I used Blue resilience seed. Sept 6, 2025 – oct14. This whole project felt like peak DIY lawn care… I’m tired.

I’d like to thank my wife for supporting this project and you guys for all the knowledge I have gained from all the posts.

TLDR: nuked my lawn, grew some grass, had a beer admiring the result.
