A few dozen of these asters have popped up under a bunch of pokeweed in my yard. The area is pretty shaded and dry. The asters with small white flowers I’ve found online all look the same to me. Anyone have a guess?

    Calico is possible, my other thought would be panicled aster

    There are so many white-flowered Symphyotrichum species. You need pictures of the phyllaries, point of leaf attachment, leaf undersides and the color of the disk florets pre and post anthesis to get definitive on the species.

    S. dumosum, pilosum, or ericoides could could all be reasonable guesses from these photos.

    probably frost aster. I have a lot blooming in my yard.

    Aster enthusiast here, I am 100% confident this is Symphyotrichum racemosum.
