The picture almost looks like a springtail. I don’t think they are springtails based on how they move, but could be wrong. This is a year old hunter’s diamonds and rubies that I’d really like to not loose. The plant itself seems totally fine, just bloomed a few months ago, but the terracotta pot seems to have a lot of buggies on it that kinda look like thrips. It is in a self watering setup, a porcelain pot and a terracotta with wick, that is where all the bugs are, on the terracotta. Pictures don’t do a great job, they’re about the size of a needle eyelet. I’ve got one bagged and trying to find a microscope I can use. But I’m not very experienced with AV, is this something in the hobby? I have not seen any of the bugs on the plant. Please let me know y’all’s thoughts!

What about their movement is different than you’d expect for springtails vs thrips?

Thrips are much more likely on the blooms. They feed on pollen. Don’t know what this is but it’s something other than thrips.

I had ones like that on my AV, and they were definitely springtails, jumping away as soon as I brought my finger near them. Have you checked the soil? They like more damp setups
