So I got this guy in the mail exactly two weeks ago today. While I'm sure via just how much the pups have grown in the last two weeks that it's surviving, the 75yo tip has me a bit concerned/confused. Part of my brain says it's good via the pups. The other part of my head is saying, pup and grow fast because because of the stress and shit conditions.

When I got it, I immediately planted it and watered it in as I would with every plant that I've ever got bareroot. Over the last two weeks I have acclimated it to the grow lights and I've currently got it about like 18-24" from the lights. The lights are different full spectrum lights with the 100watt leaning more warm while the 250watt is far cooler making the spectrum a bit more "even" in my eyes. The lights are on for 16hours everyday plus my entire setup is next to a large sliding glass door that faces south allowing the room consistent daily sunlight as well as my lights.

I haven't watered it since that first time two weeks ago and I'm afraid to water it now out of the fear of rot. In the photo, the soil looks really organic but it's got to be at least 60%perlite, about 10-20% worm castings and the other 30ish% is cactus soil that I remove most of the big chunks of bark and coco fibers. This mix has absolutely no measurement it's just off look and feel and based off eyeballing so take those percentages as maybe, sadly.

I have seen a few posts with other people's TBMB that honestly look far more dehydrated and it seems that I need to water but I'm not to sure if that's what's needed. Should I wait another week to make sure the roots take first? It's definitely still a bit wobbly when I mess with it like the roots haven't done anything yet. Water? Wait? Chill Out?

It looks beautiful and healthy I’d leave it alone. Water when it starts to show any wrinkling or shrinking.

If it feels squishy like a overripe banana it would like some water, if it it hard and tight like a cucumber then best to let it dehydrate a while before watering.

Another thought in my head as to why I’m stubborn on watering currently.

If I were the plant, this is my thoughts:

So you knew I was pupping, yet you uprooted my ass. Let me dry out while in complete darkness for days. I just saw light for the first time now that you unboxed me and you all of a sudden put me in a new soil mix, hit me with a deluge of water all while giving me 1/100th of the light I need while you creeping me forward a inch inch a day….

… So, because you were more of a dick than me, I need to throw these pups out as soon as possible.. I will now use the reserves I’ve saved up in case such a dick move was done to me and make sure my pups survive the chaos your ass just caused. Don’t water me, let me throw that energy into my dudes, and when I think I’ll be good and survive, i’ll chill out and put a bit of energy back into myself.

Looks fine, dude. Dont stress over it and “love it to death” and it will be fine.
