A man has been charged following a racially aggravated attack near Bradford College.

Police were called to the college on Thursday morning (October 9) after two people were injured in an attack close to Bradford College. A “a small gardening tool” was seized by officers.

David Nouch, 31, of no fixed abode, has today (October 11) been charged with a racially aggravated offence under the Public Order Act, racially aggravated assault, threatening with a bladed article in a public place and assault by beating.

After the attack, a police cordon was erected outside a newsagent’s in Great Horton Road, but this has since been removed.

In their latest statement, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident near Bradford College on Thursday morning.

“David Noutch, of no fixed abode, has been charged with a racially aggravated offence under the Public Order Act, racially aggravated assault, threatening with a bladed article in a public place and assault by beating.

“He is also charged with two counts of assaulting a constable and causing criminal damage.”

The 31-year-old, who self-defines as white British, has been remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court this morning.
