Before someone says have them fix it: I just spent the past month doing core aeration, overseed, starter fertilizer, compost. Had it perfect. I don't want them fixing it, I don't want them using their riding mower on my property. So annoying because that's the first thing you see as you pull into my driveway. This is tall fescue so no self-repair ability like KBG.

Leave a Google review and contact head office.

Ask for reimbursement for your time. Be reasonable, like $50-$100 or whatever.

If you don’t want them to fix it, they at least owe you dinner.

    What did the neighbor say?
Google review is the way, but post some good photos with it.

If you would see what the plumbing company did to my yard you would probably faint. Let’s just say I need $3000 worth of top soil to level the surface

  4. AmbitiousArugula

Have you spoken to the lawncare company?

  5. BillZZ7777

Just talk to them the next time they are there and be cool about it. If you don’t want them to fix it they should appreciate it.

Also just FYI there are strains of TTTF that will self repair and fill in.

Let your neighbor know. Let them know you’ve spent a lot of hardwork on this so it means a lot. See what’s their reaction and go from there.

Is that grass growing between the curb and your driveway? you might be able to dig it out with a flat head screw driver and transplant it to the damaged areas.

I’m a TTTF guy, Every year I grow a few “quick repair” patches in flower pots, bunnies digging? neighbors dog digging? neighbor leaves a rut? I grumble and then grab one of the patches, dig the area out, plop in the patch, sprinkle a little seed on the edges and in about a week you won’t notice it much. two – three weeks it’ll be gone.

Be sure not to talk to the neighbor or the company directly. Hire a team of lawyers and surprise them with a civil lawsuit.

It’s a bummer to see, but it’s not bad. It will correct itself over time.

Does anyone talk to actually people anymore. Talk to your neighbor and go from there

Throw some seed down and water it. It will grow back quickly. Let your neighbor know what happened and he’ll relay the message to the company. Same exact thing happened to me. Not a big deal.

Shit happens. Throw some seed down and will look like new in a month.

Understand but this is minimaI. Saw a city snow plow get stuck in a neighbors front yard during a blizzard a few years ago. Come spring melt looked like a pig pen.

Can your neighbors lawn care company damage my lawn and make it look that nice

  15. Qwertyham

That little bare spot is what you’re worried about? Just throw a little more seed down and talk to your neighbor. You won’t notice it in a week.

  16. I have a lawncare company. I for one wouldn’t do this, but to play devil’s advocate between the grass growing in the crack and the clippings that you didn’t blow off the street it looks like a lawn of someone that doesn’t care about his lawn. I would be polite, but ask them to not use your lawn to get started in. They are likely burnt out by this time of the year so cut them some grace.

  17. waloshin

That does suck but where I live that is easement “city owned property”…

  18. TR6lover

I mean, I guess I would assume it was the lawn care company of the neighbor, but do you know that?

Same thing happened to me. My neighbor’s aeration crew messed up part of my newly seeded grass. It stung for a bit but I just threw down some topsoil, leveled, and reseeded. Can’t even tell a few weeks later. It was really not worth bringing it up and stressing our neighbors who we have a good relationship with.

I get it, I’d be pissed too. But people are too quick to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Your neighbors didn’t do anything wrong. Get a bit of top soil, the same seed you have already and just fix it. It’ll take 30 minutes.

  21. Beavis2210

You can either: 1) confront your neighbor you probably don’t know and immediately ruin that relationship (they will think you are crazy for this, no doubt), 2) stuff your feelings in a sack and move on or 3) contact ICE about the neighbors crew who did this (I read your replies before posting this).

I understand the efforts you have went to improve the nature strip.
You do appreciate that it’s not your property
