Zone 6a. I bought a house earlier this year, and have taken a ton of advice from this subreddit and a few others. Inherited a dead lawn with a bunch of weeds. Not all the weeds are gone yet, but things are looking much better now! This is my first home and I have no experience with lawncare before this. Blowing-out my irrigation system next week and winding things down, but I think I'm set up well for next year 🤞

Lawn looks great! Wash and stain your fence next. You might be surprised how big a difference that will make.

The way you set up the rocks around the grass looks so beautiful. Which grass seed did you use for your lawn? Also, where did you get the rocks? Everything looks good. 👍🏻

Damn you crushed it. Congrats! My zone is similar, any tips that had a big impact for you?

That looks great! Agree the rock around the fence is well done. But damn do they pack ya in there in Denver, gives me anxiety

Thanks y’all! I’ll be back in a few hours and can respond to some comments with more specifics, but a garden weasel weed popper, pulling weeds by hand, using 24D and Thistledown as spot treatments as needed, and then numerous iterations of adding topsoil + fertilizer and overseeding in sections were all in my arsenal. I think I’m lucky to live in a mild climate, as I was able to germinate seed even in the heat of summer. Of course, my water bills were fairly high, but I think it was worth it!

Looks great. Quite interested in the gravel border. Do you have a pet that runs that perimeter?
