Hi everyone, I just started my first hydroponic setup using a ready-made kit that came with seeds, nutrients, and all the basic equipment.
Right now, I’m still in the seedling stage. I planted 8 seeds in total, but here’s what’s happening:
• 3 plants are growing well,
• 2 are growing very slowly, and
• 3 haven’t grown at all since sprouting (or barely sprouted).
I’m wondering what could be causing this difference in growth. Is it normal for seedlings in the same setup to grow at different rates, or could there be a problem with nutrients, light, or water levels?
Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated! I’m still learning and want to figure out what I might be doing wrong.
Thanks in advance 🙂

I think they are drowning.. wayyyyy too much water. The medium would be moist but not waterlogged in a pool of water like this.
I would soak whatever plug you are using then give it a squeeze and then plant the seed. I would not have the plugs sitting in water like that.
When the roots emerge they need some moisture and just as important some oxygen, so by having the medium water logged there wont be any air pockets of oxygen for the roots to breath.
