LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Lafayette welcomed a new meditation garden at Moncus Park. Groundbreaking for the Kergan Meditation Garden took place on Monday, promising a serene space for reflection in the heart of the city.
The garden will be located in the rear portion of the park and will host wellness programs.
“I do healing work by trade and I would say everyone from 30 on under is completely up to speed on what is going on in terms of consciousness and energy and such,” philanthropist Ann Kergan said. “But it’s something that needs to be reintroduced to everyone, and it’s an easy way to do it through the form of a zen garden.”
If everything proceeds as planned, the Kergan Meditation Garden is expected to open next spring.
