We moved into a new house last year with wild blackberries in the back. They have overgrown the fence into the neighbour’s yard. Some branches are as thick as a thumb.
I was wondering how far I can prune them back this fall.

i can’t tell for sure but if this is the pnw and those are himalayan blackberries you can demolish them and they will come back. i’d recommend keeping them cut back so they don’t take over your yard.
