COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – If you’ve ever wanted to enjoy Garden of the Gods without all of the vehicles, now’s your chance!
Motorless Morning returns to the beloved park Sunday, meaning from 5 a.m.-noon, the only traffic jam you’ll have to worry about is the famous big horn sheep herd!
“This special event at Garden of the Gods Park eliminates motor vehicle access within the park … offering guests a unique experience in the park,” reads the event description on the city website. “Without cars, the park’s winding roadways beckon to cyclists and joggers, skaters and dog walkers, offering the chance for a wide variety of user groups to join together, slow down and enjoy the splendor of this wonderful city park.”
To take part, all you need to do is bring yourself during that seven-hour block! Entry into the park is always free. Bikes, including e-bikes, skateboards (roads only!), and of course, hikers and runners, are allowed, as are your furry friends! The city says power-driven mobility devices are also permitted.

Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center (1805 30th Street),Garden of the Gods Trading Post (324 Beckers Lane, Manitou Springs)Parking Lot 1 (corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road)
Designated parking for persons with disabilities is available at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, and the lone exception to vehicles in the park, is a shuttle from the visitor center for guests who need it.
Sunday’s event is the last Motorless Morning of the year! The next opportunity to enjoy the park sans car will likely be spring of 2026.
