How bad is the damage? The tree is technically on city property since it’s between the sidewalk and street. Not sure what to do next. 😔

That branch needs to be removed but it is a city tree. Depending on your city they won’t come out until it fails and maybe not even then.

You’ll want to let the city know. Take a good video to send em
But it could be months and months before this is addressed.

if you hired a qualified arborist to trim the damaged branch, I find it hard to believe the city would notice and even harder to believe they would care but ymmv i guess

Notify the city. I don’t see adequate clearance for most ordinances. It won’t fail tomorrow.

Sweet, now the city will come massacre the tree for you! /s

If you like the tree, how it is don’t say anything. If you want it butchered pipe up.

  5. Let it be. I’ve seen trees recover from worse. Its often only fiberglass and thin plate metal on those truck roofs. So might be fine.

It’s ultimately the drivers fault, but the tree is out of compliance. If that wasn’t a city owned tree,YOU could be liable!

That happens with uhauls all the time. Also what genius plants that tree there!? I’d send photos to city and recommend they at least send an arborist to come take a look
