Several classes from Noss Primary School had the chance to show off their artistic talent by taking part in Reiss Gardening Club’s flower show.
With over 220 entries, the judges had a tough time choosing the prize winners, even after the organisers split the entries up into separate classes. However, after some deliberations they finally came to a decision on the winners from each class.

The winners would each receive a monetary prize, but the club were so impressed with the artwork that they took the decision to recognise the efforts of every entrant.
Gardening club chairwoman Carol Place and treasurer Linda Tait paid a visit to the school to present each participant with a token of the club’s appreciation for their hard work and talent.
After thanking the children and teachers for participating, Carol gave the pupils the opportunity to share their feedback and give ideas for next year’s show classes. Carol and Linda then presented each of them with a medal or a badge, before announcing the prize winners and presenting them with their prizes.
One of the classes in this year’s show for P6-7 children was to design a logo commemorating the club’s 30th anniversary. This was won by P7 pupil Karmin Mackay, whose design will be used by the club.
This is the second year that the school has participated in the show, and pupils and teachers enjoyed building a relationship with the local community.
Teacher Hilda Sutherland said: “The children enjoyed creating their pictures and it was very nice of the club to acknowledge all the children’s efforts.”
