Milton residents are invited to a free public lecture exploring the future of local landscapes in a changing climate.

Spencer Glendon, an economist and founder of the Probable Futures initiative, will speak at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Milton Public Library, according to a community announcement. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

The event is sponsored by the Milton, Noannet and Fox Hill Garden Clubs.

Glendon will discuss the connections between climate change, local ecosystems and gardening. He will draw on his research to explain how changing weather patterns, rising temperatures and shifting seasons affect both global systems and local plants.

The lecture aims to make climate science accessible and actionable for all attendees, regardless of their gardening experience.

The event is free and open to the public.
