Botanical experts have predicted that the Kington gardens will have one of the most spectacular autumn displays in recent years.
This is due to a warm and sunny summer followed by cool, dry nights, which are expected to produce a vibrant and lasting display.
The gardens, home to one of the largest privately owned arboretums in the UK, are renowned for their autumn colours.
They feature six distinct gardens and parkland, showcasing more than 5,000 rare trees and shrubs, including the National Collections of Zelkovas and Maples, as well as 130 champion trees.
Austyn Hallworth, Head of Marketing & PR at Hergest Croft Gardens, said: “Autumn is always a special time at Hergest Croft, but this year could prove to be truly exceptional.
“We’ve had a very warm and sunny summer and this enables trees to build the sugar reserves that help to create the vibrant colours.

“With our unrivalled collections of trees, visitors can really experience the science of autumn colour in action – and to see why our gardens are regarded as one of the finest places in Britain to enjoy this spectacular event.”
The autumn display will coincide with the Autumn Plant Fair on Saturday, October 12, where more than 60 exhibitors, including specialist growers and artisan food, drink and craft makers, will gather at the gardens.
The gardens are open daily from 11am to 4.30pm, with admission costing £9 for adults and free for children under 16.
