Porcher Park Community Garden is owned by the City of Langford and operated by Urban Food Resilience Initiatives Society (UFRIS) which is led by UFRIS Executive Lead Mary P Brooke.

Launching the garden space in May was strongly supported with generous donations from start-up sponsors including RONA (lumber and construction hardware), IslandEarth (three large deliveries of soil), and GardenWorks Colwood (starter plants for all the garden boxes).

UFRIS:

Urban Food Resilience Initiatives Society (UFRIS) launched Langford’s flagship community garden which enables urban residents who have no yard space to grow food for their households.

This is part of the UFRIS mission to undertake seeing natural food-growing capacity in all urban communities across BC and to support household food affordability.
