I have an absolutely massive spider plant who is apparently child free by choice. She’s never put out a single baby in 4 years.

Once my ex and I made a project for her daughter’s filth grade class.
45 baby spider plants wrapped in wet paper towels in baggies. (I joked about being a drug dealer.) Daughter supplied the pots an soil.
I don’t know how many survived, but that original plant was seven or eight years old at the time. I still have one from the original. So, it’s 15 – 20 years old now.
They grow up so fast
There are other children outside my apartment, but that’s another story.

I’m the plant lady at my work, and I’ve started a lot of these by rooting babies in water. It seems like when they are root bound, but still watered and fed, they produce a ton of babies. You have to watch the babies, because the stems dry up, and you have to remove those.
