is it too late to edit and move some things around in this garden in zone 4b? or should i wait until spring as the hyssop is still busy with pollinators. packed everything in too tight and want to overall enlarge this garden and move the 3 northwinds back. the hyssop swallowed up 2 grasses so i would reverse the order. would also remove the alliums and calamintha to another garden so there’s less species in here.

Not sure on the moving. I’d probably move in spring before things start taking off. That being said, I love the current look, it looks full and lush!
I’d wait until they start to go more dormant and chop them down to like 6” of stem, but I don’t think you’d kill anything if you moved it now and kept an eye on it.
I moved a ton of stuff a couple weeks ago in 7b’ish, some still in full bloom. If it was shorter (turtlehead, aster, dwarf iris) I didn’t chop it low, but most (hyssop, autumn joy) weren’t as stable in the new spot so they got cut back.
I am 6a and moving some stuff (and planting new plants) right now. I figure they need time to establish their roots before the first freeze. 🤷🏻♀️
Edit: I have had better luck with planting and transplanting in the fall rather than in the spring.
I would mark with stakes where the plants are, then in late autumn dig them up and transplant, cut the tops and pile in the garden separately so insects can still use them
