(KNSI) – The St. Cloud State University Community Garden is turning 20, with an event meant to mark the occasion scheduled for Thursday evening.
It will run from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of 5th Avenue South and 6th Street South. The ceremony is free, and the public is welcome as the school embraces the community aspect of the garden. There will be a presentation on the garden’s history and its impact on people, including its therapeutic aspects.
Organizers have a night of music and food planned. The highlight will be the debut of a new Jupiter Moon Ice Cream flavor that makes use of ingredients grown within the garden itself.
Garden Director Tracy Ore says, “This celebration is both a look back at what we’ve accomplished together and a look forward to what’s possible.”
