This 30gl tank is going to be a mostly closed ecosystem. The dream for this tank is to get a healthy self sustaining ecosystem, then see what predator I can introduce that can survive indefinitely without collapsing the ecosystem.
The closed nature of the terrarium and small size limits my options, but I think a centipede or low metabolic amphibian could survive indefinitely.
My assumption is gas exchange will be the limiting factor for a vertebrate predator before food scarcity.
The terrarium is 3 days old and my various detrivors are still establishing stable population levels.
Any insight would be appreciated.
