At the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture, we offer a wide range of training courses – working with individuals to prepare them for a career in horticulture, or to further develop knowledge & skills in various horticulture sectors.
While studying with us, students are trained in the theory & practice of horticulture and get an opportunity to work in a practical way alongside skilled horticulturalists as part of their training. Our graduates contribute to many sectors of the horticulture industry, such as; landscape design and construction, garden centres, parks, estate gardens, grounds maintenance and greenkeeping.
Our primary location at the beautiful National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin provides our students with a unique training experience; blending the finest park setting in the Capital with the invaluable knowledge of our Education team. In 2016 our facilities expanded to include Teagasc Ashtown, where students can avail of dedicated Food Production, Sports Turf & Glasshouse facilities.
In 2023 our courses expanded to include the new Horticultural Apprenticeship Programme (in association with Generation Apprenticeship & SOLAS), in response to the evolving needs of Irish Horticulture. Currently we run horticulture certificate courses at Level 5, Level 6 Advanced, Level 6 Higher (Apprenticeship) and Level 7.
