In my wise wisdom I set my snake plant outside on the balcony for a few hours and forgot about it. It’s been 3 days and now she looks like this. Please help her!! She normally doesn’t get a lot of sun so I wanted to help her get more lively.

Her fronds? Have been almost bleached of color. They were a much deeper green beforehand. And her long tendrils are not floppy. Is there any saving her? Should I cull the floppy ones? I heard snake plants only grow from their tip so if I cut any way is that just limiting her?

I water her once a week but since she was outside so long she might have had the water sucked out of her. Is this a burn or is she dehydrated?

Anyways please send help! I’ve had her for 3 years and my step mom has tried to steal her like 5 times because of how beautiful she was. Now I fear I’m a neglectful parent and it should have with her.

I have noticed that if take my Snake plants inside the house for a few days and then take it outside to the balcony where they usually are, they start to drop leaves that first become mushy. After doing the plant start growing new leaves. It’s like the went dormant while inside and once outside again with more light at their disposal they are making up and renewing. Those mushy leaves cannot be saved. But the good news is that the plant will probably grow new leaves and recover. After noticing this, I actually did that in order to force new growth on a snake plant that I have rescued and whose leaves were damaged by exposed to much to the elements.

It’s important to not make drastic changes of sun exposure to plants. Almost all plants will suffer that way. If they were inside the house, the correct procedure is not to place them in full sun, but in partial shade first for a day or two, and then indirect light, and they will gradually adapt to the new conditions. I have burned myself a few plants that way.

I thought leaves curling upward and in is a sign of overwatering? Advice from this sub, could be over simplification.
