Hey y’all. Welcome back or welcome if you are new to today’s video. So, it has been raining all day today and it says it’s going to be like 80% rain tomorrow and the next day. So, I had plans to mulch out a few areas in our yard. So, I’ve got landscaping on my mind because I just feel like landscaping is so beautiful in your yard. So, I went to Pinterest and I found 25 different landscaping ideas. I’m just going to share the photo of them with y’all and then just kind of give a few talking points through each of them, kind of my process of why I liked this and that I thought it would be cool. So, I hope y’all enjoy this video. I know it’s a little bit different than what I normally share. I normally share mowing and my garden, but since the weather is as it is, I thought this would be something fun we could do on the days that we can’t actually be out in the yard doing stuff. So, the first one that caught my eye was this one with all of the white picket fence. And it looks like there’s no rhyme or reason to it, you know? And I’ve never thought about that when it comes to the white picket fences is you could get a few pieces of it. Do like a little area where your mailbox is or just like a corner area of your yard, put some flowers or bushes around it and then you have a nice little landscaped area. So, I thought that one was really pretty. And with all of these, you know, when I look at them, I think, okay, that’s not all in my budget, but I could do something, you know, like just taking inspiration from the images that I see and then thinking, what could I do on my budget with that? This next one I thought was really simple and they did something similar to us. So, and we have a deck, too. So, this would be really pretty around a deck, but they put those They’re for the wall retaining wall. They took the pieces of brick or whatever it is for the retaining walls and they made a border out of them by laying them flat. And we’ve got ours laying up straight up. But I like this. And then they’ve got some roses in there, some flowers, and what is that called? A aosta. Is that how you pronounce it? But I thought this was something really simple to do because you just need a little bit of mulch, whatever um bushes and shrubs you’re going to do, and then maybe like 10 or so of those retaining wall blocks. This next one I thought was beautiful because not only the flowers, but how they have it lit up and you can even see the lights like on the grass. So solar lights are a really good addition to your yard. Even just I’ve seen solar lights that have the like a mesh outside so when the light comes on it shows a really pretty like floralcape on your wall. So I thought that would be something fun to do. And then this next one I thought was just so quirky. It kind of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland a little bit. They’ve got all of their galvanized planters and I’m guessing it’s on like a post unless it’s attached to that fence right there. And this is something simple, too. Just get a bunch of those containers, zip tie them or however they’re doing it. Maybe screwing them into the wood and then put your put your flowers in there. And you don’t even have to use galvanized containers unless you’ve just already got some. But if you want a really affordable way to do that, Dollar Tree has those stackable planters for like herbs and you can put little flowers in there. So, I thought that was really pretty. Honestly, this is something that I want to do. So, I’m saving I’m being selfish a little bit. I’m saving some of these for me. I’m doing this. Let me know if you see any of these and you’re like, you have to do that cuz I will. Okay, this next one I just liked how they have the pavers in with the little pebble rock and then in the rocks they have solar post and then they also have the floral arrangements and their border is kind of going in and out. It’s got nice curve curvature. So, I I like the curves in landscaping. Whenever you have a very rectangle or square yard and there’s not a not not a lot of natural curvature to it, doing something like this adds a little curve appeal. All right, this is really pretty. I do have an area where I have a fountain. I see a fountain in the back and I like all the greenery that they put in here. But what I noticed is they have the rocks as a border, but then they also have mulch on the inside with some like larger rocks. I think that looks so natural. And it also reminds me of when you go like on a hike and you see all like random rocks in with the soil and the water. It’s just so pretty. Yeah, it looks like they have their fountain plugged into the wall. So that’s like a really nice watery area. This next one I thought would be great for Memorial Weekend and also the Fourth of July holiday. They have just got what looks to be a raised bed and then they have put the blue flowers and then the red and white stripes in there with flowers and they’ve got a bunch of greenery along the edge of it. So that is also something that I felt like we could do that. Like that’s simple to me. I love looking at the extravagant. Like this right here with the blue house. This is extravagant. They’ve got a lot going on. And who knows how long it took them to build up to this point. Do any of y’all have a dream of having like your whole front yard just full of flowers or your whole backyard full of flowers? This is what this is giving for me. And there is an area that I could do this at. And um I love it. Like it gets it’s tall up against the windows, but then it’s smaller, you know? It’s just like a field of flowers that they just cut out and put in their yard and then they just have a bunch of big rocks around it. And they’ve got a water fountain, too. I like theirs has two two or three tears. This would be great for fall cuz they’re all orange florals. But I liked how they just took what looks to be like a foot off of each side of their sidewalk and then they added some soil. I don’t even know if I see like one of those uh borders and then they’ve got their flowers in it. So that’s something else I feel like that could be easy and somewhat affordable, especially if you did seeds for your flowers. Okay. And then I did throw a fire pit in there because I I always see like fire pits up off the ground, but this one is actually dug in the ground. And it also shows you the step by steps of how to do it. So, that would be a really fun way to have a fire pit. I don’t know why I’m showing y’all the photos when you’re seeing the photos over here. All right. another one that has the kind of curvature going on that I just feel like is really nice for really straight edge yards and then they’ve got the solar lights in there. I really like how they had the solar lights staggered so that they could have their path lit up. This one, a flower barrel. I love these how they’re turned over. I’ve seen them turned over too, like in the rocks and it looks like all the rocks are spilling out of the barrel. Um, but this one’s just got the flowers in it and then she’s got a hook and she’s put a picture on the hook so it looks like it’s being watered. I’ve also when I was on Pinterest I saw that they had a lot of you know how they’ll have like shop now those little pictures in between the photos. Well, I saw one that had a it was a solar light, but it was a lantern and it lit up and then it also had I don’t know if it had like solar string lights coming out of it or what, but it made it to where it looked like it was spraying out and it looked really pretty. This next one I thought was cute because it’s tiered and it’s also like in a corner. So, if you have a fenced in area, a lot of the new builds, like the new houses they’re putting up, they will some of them will have that like little fenced in area. There’s not much yard to it, but I thought this would be something really cool to do with that if you have a small yard, but you want to have a lot of flowers. Going up vertically would make it to where you could have more of what you want and you don’t have to use all of the, you know, all your square footage of your yard. This next one is something that I feel like I could do with that leftover lattice I have. They’re using something else here, but they’ve just got them um secured to their siding and then the flowers are growing up those. So, I thought that would be something fun to do. And then this next one, they built a little kind of like a little creek out of the rocks so that when it rains, the water can drain through there and then you have really nice pretty like looks like a natural little creek. And I’m noticing they have some taller pieces like it looks like um grass that grows in the water. I don’t know what it’s called y’all, but it’s growing over there. Okay, this next one, they have flower rocks in their yard. I thought that was so cute. And if you already have an area that’s mulched, you can do that. You can buy the river rocks at Lowe’s or any garden center or you could even possibly find them like just in nature for that would be even more cost effective. Y’all, I’m about saving money. So, I thought that was really neat and also simple cuz it’s just one rock in the middle and then you put smaller rocks around it. Then I saw these. I have a couple of these hooks outside cuz I have my bird feeders hanging on them, but they have flower baskets hanging on them and then they also have bushes in the mulch. But I thought this was fun because it’s like two layers of florals if you’re if you’re someone that likes a lot of flowers. Okay. Okay. I love flowers. This one is just rainbows, but this is something you could do alongside your home. And we live in a mobile home, so it’s very long, but not very wide. And this is something that I would love to do in our front yard because right now, all we have is hanging baskets, two bushes just in the in the in the grass on each side of our um each side of our front steps. And then we do have the retaining wall blocks on each side of the steps with some mulch in there. But we have a lot of yard left that normally I’m weed eating and I could do something like this. So I thought that would be good. And then they have the flowers around the tree with they also put a hanging basket in theirs. It looks actually it does look like a picture. It might be hard for y’all to see. I don’t know. But they have a picture that you would, you know, water your garden with. And they have some sort of hanging plant in there. So, I thought that was cute. And I It’s not dark, but I can see a solar light. We have one tree in our yard. One. Aside from the one that we’re always cutting back each year, we have one tree. It’s a cyprress. I think it’s got little blue berries on it. So, I’m not quite sure, but it’s one of those that looks like a Christmas tree. And it has gotten so big, but I thought it would be fun idea. It’s over there by our pavers to mulch that area. And I didn’t even think to like plant flowers with it, too. But I think that would be really pretty. And it would like it would just make the tree pop and like it’s meant to be there. Because right now, it’s just a random tree that I planted. We were redoing our front steps and I noticed there was a little tree under there and it looked like the little cypress trees you get at the grocery store during Christmas time and so I dug it out of the ground and then I planted it in the backyard and now it is massive. I was kind of surprised it even got as big as it is and it’s going to get bigger. So this next one I really liked pretty much everything we’ve went over. I like the curve appeal. I like the pavers going in the different directions and stuff like that. But what I really liked about this one is it’s not just bushes and flowers, but they put a little tree in there. And I think that’s a nice accent. This next one is for if you have a post or if you wanted to make one. I I could make something like this. That would be fun. Um but they just have a post and there’s a solar light on top and they’ve got their bird feeders. They’ve got baskets of flowers. They’ve even looks like they’ve got um those little wire like the square that you put the bird feed in. And then they’ve got their flowers at the bottom with some rocks that look like you would use for a fire pit. There you go. And that’s like this that’s those are the things that I want to like start learning how to do because they’re small and it looks like something you could do in a day. So, and I I am a person that likes to like I want to get things done in a day. It’s hard for me to stretch out a project. Like I just want to do it in this 24-hour period. This next one stood out to me because they are using what looks to be like 2x4s, which they’re thicker, but we have some wood outside and if Aaron just cuts it up for me, we could use the wood as a border, like a a natural looking border. And I thought that that is such a good idea. And they have a lot of soil in there because it is it’s pretty tall. And then this one I I just liked for the lights. So it I can’t remember what they said, but they’re they just like stick to the side. And I thought that would be neat. I’m hoping that they’re solar lights. And I didn’t even know that this existed. Like we got lights for the underneath of our cabins so that they would light up. And I was I was like, who invented this? because they are genius because we don’t have the light. You can just turn a switch on and then you have lights underneath your cabinets. I know some people do have that. Um, so it gets really dark in that area in our kitchen without those little string lights. So I’m wondering if this is just a solar light and then it’s it heaves or something like that to the border. And I’m guessing you wouldn’t even have to put it on a border if you didn’t want to. You could use it along the siding possibly as well or like a sidewalk if you have one of those. This one I thought was really pretty. A lot of the times I see them where they have the walkway and then they’ll have just a long kind of following like the orange ones that we saw earlier. They’ll have the soil and the border kind of bendy to where it’s curvy. But this one, they just did a bunch of circular areas where they put their flowers. And I thought that was gorgeous. And I really like the rocks. Those look like the white rocks I used um around our bushes, the white river rocks. This one they’ve got some hostas. And then they’re also using the retaining wall um blocks. I don’t know what the material is that they use. Um, but this reminds me of what we’ve done in our backyard. Just having all the retaining wall there and then putting the mulch on the inside and then whatever you want to do with the inside. That’s it, y’all. That was 25.
