Hi! So, my plants haven’t grown in quite as quickly as I was hoping, and I’m concerned that there isn’t enough coverage for the gargoyle gecko I will be receiving on Thursday. Do I need to add some artificial vines? I have a couple of Fluker’s pothos vines, but I’m concerned that they will create too much shade and prevent my plants from becoming well established.

Honestly, as long as you have enough structure and hiding spots. Your gecko will be fine, they’re pretty low maintenance. The plants will grow in, atleast what aren’t trampled by the geckos

I would. Especially since you don’t have your gecko yet and a new home is usually stressful for the first few weeks. Extra foliage will help the new garg feel safer faster. Gargs tend to be a bit more timid and will freeze when stress or scared. More leaves will keep you hidden from them and then hidden from you while they acclimate.

You could always skip fake plants and replace one of the younger plants with something more mature and bushy like a taller schefflera or other canopy plant.

Put more plants in…easy. Pothos dont cost anything and they would make a big difference.
