This plant has grown quite a lot since I got it a few years ago, and I’ve propagated it several times times. I continue to have issues with the leaves getting crispy and brown though. What can I do to solve this?

I usually water weekly, and the pot does have drainage. This plant is currently on the screened in porch (for the warmer months) and gets Southeast morning light.

You’ve got a beautiful variety. In order to encourage a *fuller* look I like to break the nodes into segments and plant them back into the pot. They take root pretty quickly. As far as the crispy leaves, it may be getting too much light at certain times of the day.

I noticed that mine did better with bottom watering. I was also getting a lot of crispy leaves and this seemed to help. Also propagate the sad looking areas in parts and they will fill in nicely.

  3. i am pretty sure this is Tradescantia nanouk! they tend to lose leaves pretty easily, which makes them look leggy, usually from some inconsistent watering but they are very finicky in general.

like the other comments said, i would cut, wait for callous, then put back into the pot then next time you water. i have had tradescantia props fails when i didn’t let it callous, they can rot pretty easily.

otherwise looks pretty good! lots of new growth. brown spots on the leaves are usually caused by getting water on them, so try to avoid that, i usually bottom water
